Concept

The overall goal of the interior design of this project has been to induce a sense of home in today's soulless apartments — the fundamental matter which is forgotten these days.

An important question that occupied my mind was this: if I was a prisoner at home for a long time, exclusive of physiological necessities, what would I need so that the feeling of isolation and being far away from the surrounding world would fade for me? Culture, knowledge, worldview, vitality, vivacity, variety, color, comfort, peace of mind, natural light, a window, and hope.

At the beginning of the design process, I imagine that this place will be mine — so I ask myself, as a user, what do I really expect from a place so that I can feel a sense of belonging there? My personal home is dynamic, sensual, warm and intimate, with cozy and memorable corners.

What does democracy in architecture look like? I asked myself what would happen if family members faced varying requirements and tastes. As a designer, I shouldn't prefer one opinion over another — I want everyone to feel at home. Therefore, I had to predict a variety of furniture for this home.

The kitchen is designed with bold colors, while other parts are composed of neutral tones — yet the vibrant kitchen remains visible from all over the home, creating various artistic frames of view.
